The Space Between the Sound

It’s been a while since I’ve written here. Life has been full — of changes, of beauty, of deep unraveling and putting the pieces back together again. In the last few years my relationship to sound and this work has evolved in ways I couldn’t have anticipated. What once began as a gentle offering for rest and relaxation has deepened into something much more.

Lately, I’ve been witnessing how sound has this immense capacity to soothe, but also to stir. To activate. To clear. And sometimes… to shake something loose that we haven’t been able to see for a long time.

Sound therapy isn’t just about calming the nervous system (though it absolutely does that, beautifully). It’s also about creating space for truth inside of us to emerge. Whether it’s grief, joy, clarity, or something we don’t have words for, the frequency of the sound makes room for it to be witnessed.

I’ve had people walk out of sessions and say things like “I didn’t expect to cry, but I guess I needed that” or “I came here exhausted, but I have so much energy now”.

These moments are why I return again and again to this practice. Sound reaches the parts of us that don’t always respond to language and words. The sound just knows where to go.

I’m reminded that we don’t always need to “figure it out” or explain what we’re feeling. Sometimes, we just need to be still long enough to listen. To allow the sounds and the space between to carry us somewhere deeper. Hopefully closer to ourselves. Writing this today feels like another moment of listening. A quiet return to something that continues to mean so much to me. I’m grateful to be here, sharing it with you.
